We are proud of our colleague Kees Huizinga for winning the 2022 GFN Kleckner Global Farm Leader Award. Because of his relentless focus on alerting the world to what is happening in Ukraine and how that war threatens the world's food security.
Since Feb. 24, 2022, the first day of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Kees has been providing updates on the reality of war and its impact on Ukrainian agriculture. An important part of that message from Kees to fellow farmers, parliamentary leaders and everyone else is to make clear how this aggression would have serious consequences for food security around the world, and especially most vulnerable countries in North Africa and Asia.
